FAQ’s About This Tour

Take a look at the Frequently Asked Questions about this walking dark history tour:

This is a dark history walking tour, NOT a walking food tour! You won’t be eating or drinking anything on this tour.

We do offer several food tours – our Phantoms of Prohibition tour in particular is similar to this one, with a focus on Prohibition and ghosts and incorporating cocktails and small bites.

I know, I know! The heart wants what the heart wants… and our hearts led us straight down into a bunch of research holes full of fascinating stories that we NEED to share, but that don’t necessarily fit on any of our food tours.

Plus, nothing kills an appetite quite like grisly, horrible-but-true details…

This tour covers true history that may be disturbing or upsetting for certain age groups. The tour also includes 2 hours of standing and walking, without bathroom stops or breaks. You know your kiddos best, but I’d suggest a 12+ age minimum.

You’ll end about a few minute’s walk from where the tour begins. We’ll make sure you know how to get back to your car!

This is a dark history tour, not a ghost tour. That said, there’s certainly some overlap. And while we won’t dive too deeply into the paranormal or supernatural, we will discuss the ghastly true stories of a few tragic souls whose spirits who are said to still haunt downtown Louisville.

That mostly depends on the time of year and your specific tour start time. For instance, during the winter, 7pm is dark as midnight; but in summer, it might as well be midday! In mid July, the sun will still be setting around 10 PM.

To ensure a spookier ambiance, book the latest tour time available.

This tour does not stop indoors anywhere, and you will be standing and walking outside for 2 hours. Plan accordingly, use the restroom before you leave (there is nowhere to use the bathroom at the beginning of the tour, either) and dress for the weather!
