FAQ’s About Private Tours

Take a look at the Frequently Asked Questions about our Private Tours:

That depends on the tour you book. The daytime food tours have a LOT of food – we recommend arriving hungry and possibly planning to skip dinner that evening! The evening tour is more of a cocktail & booze tour than a food tour, but you’ll be eating almost a full meal consisting of an appetizer portion, entree portion, and dessert.

That depends on the tour you book. The evening tour is primarily a drinking tour and you will be drinking 2 small pours of bourbon, a full glass of beer, and 4 half cocktails. The daytime tours have less alcohol; you will enjoy some beer, bourbon tastings, and some other cocktail tastings depending on the tour.

Yes! Non-drinkers will enjoy refreshing non-alcoholic mocktails and drinks paired with delicious food.

Depending on the size of your group, we may be able to charter a van or bus to add pickup to and from our tour. All of our tours are designed to be walkable and are under 1.5 miles, so you won’t need transportation during the tour. If you need transportation, please fill out the form above or send an email to sales (at) louisvillefoodtours (dot) com before booking your tour.

Because private tours are tailored to your group and come with a dedicated guide, private tours do cost more than our public food tours. Your party will receive personalized attention and more flexibility, making it an ideal option for those seeking an intimate and exclusive food tour experience.

The price of our tours is based on an operating margin that fairly compensates our hard working tour guides, pays full menu price for our local restaurant partners, and includes a gratuity for the staff at each of the bars and restaurants we visit.

Our tour times and days are based on when our restaurant partners are open. However, we can sometimes make it work if we create a custom tour itinerary that skips a stop, or if there is a large group that makes it worthwhile for our restaurant partners to open and add staff just for us. Please fill out the request form above with what you’re looking for and we’ll check with our restaurant partners to see if they are willing to make special accommodations for your group, or let you know what customized tour options we can offer.

Yes, we’re happy to accommodate your group! However, due to restaurant size constraints, your group may need to be split up, take slightly different routes, or begin at staggered times. We can accommodate up to 20 guests per guide, so we’ll also need to make sure we have staffing available to suit your needs depending on the size of you group. We also have more options available for corporate groups.

Please fill out the form above or send an email to sales (at) louisvillefoodtours (dot) com to get the ball rolling.

Children of any age are always welcome on our daytime food tours! Children under 2 do not need a ticket and are welcome to share food with their parents. Children 2+ will need a non-alcoholic tour ticket.

On our evening tours, however, we visit bars that do not serve food, which means we can only accommodate adults 21+.
