Best Valentine’s Day activities in Louisville, KY
Here at Louisville Food Tours we love a date night every day of the year, but there is something so romantic about Valentine’s Day, isn’t there? Luckily, there are plenty of awesome things to do in Louisville for Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day Activities in Louisville, Ky
Whether you want an exciting food tour, a fun concert, or to relax at a spa, we have you covered!
- Take a Food Tour: While Louisville Food Tours has 8 delicious food tours you can take, our two bourbon-focused tours are some of the best ways to celebrate this Valentine’s Day! First, we have our newest tour, The Bourbon Trolley, which explores distilleries, tasting rooms, & bourbon-infused bites! As you roll through downtown, NuLu, and Butchertown, you’ll get exclusive access to tasting rooms, tour a bourbon distillery, and sample treats with a bourbon twist. Each stop features pours, tours, cocktails, stories, and plenty of Bourbon City surprises. On our Beyond the Barrel: Walking Bourbon Tour with Food Pairings, the only walking bourbon food tour in the world, you’ll go beyond the barrel to dive into bourbon’s storied history and learn all the stories they won’t tell you on a Kentucky Bourbon Trail distillery tour! As the sun sets over the vibrant NuLu neighborhood, you’ll visit award-winning restaurants, hidden speakeasies, rooftop terraces, and cozy tasting rooms.
- Grab a Romantic Dinner: There are so many delicious places to eat in town, but for Valentine’s Day we love Proof on Main, the quirky restaurant in 21c with steamed muscles, grilled swordfish, and bison burgers in an art gallery. Buck’s Restaurant and Bar is another standout with a pianist, black and white tile floor, flowers everywhere, and food ranging from Bruschetta, Filet Mignon, and an awesome espresso martini. We adore Meesh Meesh for Mediterranean, the mains include a salatim platter, with olives, pickles, hummus, and so many other delightfully flavorful things. For dinner with a view of the Ohio and the city, Swizzle is dark and romantic with Oysters, Iced Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Prime Steaks, and so many other dishes that you might just say “I love you” to. We’d also be remiss not to mention North of Bourbon, with its huge selection of bourbons, New Orleans-inspired food, and the chance to eat inside a giant bourbon barrel!
- Get a Cocktail at a Hidden Speakeasy: At LFT we love a speakeasy, some of our favorites include Hell or High Water, which is decked out in dark red velvet and brick with a lounge, a library, and several secret rooms, all playing jazz age music—request to be seated in the Wardrobe Room! If you want drinks and an activity, Pin & Proof has its own bowling alley! Lucky Penny in NuLu is also super cozy decorated with cozy dark pink and navy accents, this is the perfect place to snuggle up with a cocktail. Finally, Chicken Cock Whiskey is just the place to pop in for a drink during your date night! The speakeasy is located downstairs, in a dimly lit cellar perfect for snuggling on the couch.
- Book a Spa Date: Want some R&R for Valentine’s Day? Check out Mokara Spa at Omni which offers everything from rejuvenating facials and therapeutic massages to nail services and detoxifying body treatments, all at the stunning Omni Hotel! We also love Pelo West at The Galt House equipped with four treatment rooms, they offer hair services, mani, pedi, and massage. Blissful Relaxation Float Louisville will have you floating literally with a sensory deprivation float, said to help achieve the deepest state of relaxation possible.
- Explore a Museum or Art Gallery: At LFT we are all about art and history, and there are so many great museums for a date! The Speed Art Museum is a favorite and is the oldest, largest, and foremost museum of art in Kentucky that features rotating exhibitions on a diverse array of ancient, classical, and modern art. If you want to visit multiple museums on your Valentine’s Day Date, check out Museum Row. Our favorites are 21C Museum with the coolest contemporary art museum slash hotel ever. The Frazier History Museum, where you can peruse ancient weapons while learning about history through eerily realistic giant wax figurines, miniatures, a large bourbon exhibit, and expertly acted re-enactments and choreographed fights (Louisville is a theatre city, remember?). The Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory is the best place to take fans of baseball – it’s where all the Louisville Slugger bats are made. Yes, all of them! The Muhammad Ali Center is all about Ali’s illustrious boxing career to the man himself – including all of his flaws – as well as the racist and conflicted society from which he emerged.
