Valentine’s Day Activities in Louisville, Ky

Whether you want an exciting food tour, a fun concert, or to relax at a spa, we have you covered!

  • Take a Food Tour: New for this year we have the My Bloody Valentine Murder Mystery Food Tour, which will take you on a Valentine’s adventure as you stroll through NuLu, spending most of your time indoors and stopping at romantic eateries and bars for delicious aphrodisiacs and inventive cocktails. On your tour, you’ll be a star character in the evening’s Murder Mystery – or possibly the villain! You’ll solve clues as bourbon flows and whispers weave through the air, wondering: who’s here for love… and who’s hiding secrets darker than the water of the Ohio River? So, don your best Valentine’s attire, steel your nerves, and prepare to mingle with some suspicious guests. There’s more than one kind of heartache in the air tonight—can you piece together the clues before love takes a deadly turn?
  • Grab a Romantic Dinner: There are so many delicious places to eat in town, but for Valentine’s Day we love Proof on Main, the quirky restaurant in 21c with steamed muscles, grilled swordfish, and bison burgers in an art gallery. Buck’s Restaurant and Bar is another standout with a pianist, black and white tile floor, flowers everywhere, and food ranging from Bruschetta, Filet Mignon, and an awesome espresso martini. We adore Meesh Meesh for Mediterranean, the mains include a salatim platter, with olives, pickles, hummus, and so many other delightfully flavorful things. For dinner with a view of the Ohio and the city, Swizzle is dark and romantic with Oysters, Iced Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Prime Steaks, and so many other dishes that you might just say “I love you” to.
  • Get a Cocktail at a Hidden Speakeasy: At LFT we love a speakeasy, some of our favorites include Hell or High Water, which is decked out in dark red velvet and brick with a lounge, a library, and several secret rooms, all playing jazz age music—request to be seated in the Wardrobe Room! If you want drinks and an activity, Pin & Proof has its own bowling alley! Lucky Penny in NuLu is also super cozy decorated with cozy dark pink and navy accents, this is the perfect place to snuggle up with a cocktail. Finally, Gertie’s Whiskey Bar and Speakeasy is just the place to pop in for a drink during your date night! The speakeasy is located downstairs, in a dimly lit cellar perfect for snuggling on the couch.
  • Go see a show: These shows for 2025 are perfect for an awesome Valentine’s Date Night! We have Mrs. Krishna’s Party at Actors Theatre that takes place in “Mrs Krishnan’s convenience store”, where garlands decorate the ceiling, music flows, and no two nights of the show are the same! For nostalgia, check out Dirty Dancing in Concert at the Louisville Palace. Nothing says “I’ve had the time of my life” like Dirty Dancing in Concert, where you can see the movie with a live band and singers performing the iconic songs! Take a Valentine’s Candlelit Hike at the Louisville Nature Center where can stroll at your leisure, hand in hand, either on a short ¾ mile trail or a longer 1 ¾ mile trail. Afterwards, warm up around the fire or inside, where you can enjoy snacks and drinks! For music lovers, the Candlelight: Tribute to Coldplay at Actors Theatre is where you can listen to their hits played by skilled musicians in the ambiance of a candlelit stage. For something classical, Ravel’s Romantic Reverie – A Valentine’s Day Concert at Kentucky Performing Arts will have you getting in the romantic mood right at the beginning of the day! Lean into this lush, gorgeously romantic music which is an “endless banquet for the senses”.
  • Book a Spa Date: Want some R&R for Valentine’s Day? Check out Mokara Spa at Omni which offers everything from rejuvenating facials and therapeutic massages to nail services and detoxifying body treatments, all at the stunning Omni Hotel! We also love Pelo West at The Galt House equipped with four treatment rooms, they offer hair services, mani, pedi, and massage. Blissful Relaxation Float Louisville will have you floating literally with a sensory deprivation float, said to help achieve the deepest state of relaxation possible.
  • Explore a Museum or Art Gallery: At LFT we are all about art and history, and there are so many great museums for a date! The Speed Art Museum is a favorite and is the oldest, largest, and foremost museum of art in Kentucky that features rotating exhibitions on a diverse array of ancient, classical, and modern art.  If you want to visit multiple museums on your Valentine’s Day Date, check out Museum Row. Our favorites are 21C Museum with the coolest contemporary art museum slash hotel ever. The Frazier History Museum, where you can peruse ancient weapons while learning about history through eerily realistic giant wax figurines, miniatures, a large  bourbon exhibit, and expertly acted re-enactments and choreographed fights (Louisville is a theatre city, remember?). The Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory is the best place to take fans of baseball – it’s where all the Louisville Slugger bats are made. Yes, all of them! The Muhammad Ali Center is all about Ali’s illustrious boxing career to the man himself – including all of his flaws – as well as the racist and conflicted society from which he emerged.
